Under construction

Just to let you know, I just moved this blog to another host after it was hacked – just some random ads added, but I couldn’t get rid of them without doing a fresh install. This is what it looked like:

Since my present theme looked fucked up when I switched to the new host, we’re back to the old theme. Remember how cool it used to be to have 3 columns? I’m still not able to edit the side columns, which I think should be due to them lagging behind in the name server transfer. Or I have no idea actually. ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. It turned out that it was the new WP installation that messed up my sidebar by automatically assigning widgets to it, in which case whatever manual stuff you put there disappeared. (But since my manual stuff was almost identical to the pre-installed widgets, I just didn’t get why my changes didn’t take effect!)

I’ve now found a way to have both widgets and modded stuff there.

And widgets are quite fun, aren’t they? I always disliked them, but as long as they adjust to my css rules they look quite neat actually.

  2. I noticed that there are some strange things going on with the sidebar over at the DJ blog also. Seems like you might want to put all sidebar stuff in a container div or something, to keep the content from floating all over the place. http://ompldr.org/vZHM2bg ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Yeah, that’s not a hack though, just bad design on my part. ๐Ÿ™‚ I use many div’s cause I wanted the blocks separated by the grey bars. Of course it’s even worse when the result looks like this, but well, I’ve been meaning to fix it for a year or so now… ๐Ÿ˜ฎ
